About this RSD test

Rejection sensitive dysphoria (RSD) is a name many people, especially people with ADHD, use for intense, fast emotional pain after real or perceived rejection or criticism. It is not a formal diagnosis in the DSM-5 or ICD-11, and no online quiz can diagnose it. Researchers study a related idea called rejection sensitivity: how strongly a person expects, notices and reacts to rejection.

What the 11 questions ask

Each question describes an everyday moment: a message that goes unanswered for hours, a friend who wants to be honest with you, a small mistake in front of others, a colleague who disagrees with your idea in a meeting, an invitation you did not get. You pick the answer closest to what usually happens inside you.

What your result tells you

Your answers point to one of four rejection patterns: The Approval Addict, The Preemptive Withdrawer, The Emotional Flasher or The Overachiever Shield. After the last question you enter your email to see your result, which describes how that pattern tends to show up. It is a starting point for noticing your reactions, not a measure of how much you are struggling.

When to talk to someone

If rejection feelings take over your days, or you have thoughts of ending your life, please talk to a doctor or a licensed mental health professional. In a crisis, call your local emergency number or a crisis line now (988 in the US and Canada).
